(By Wang Hao)From April 16 to 17, Yu Faquan, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Wuhan Institute of Technology Committee and Vice President of Wuhan Institute of Technology (WIT), led a delegation to Suizhou City, Hubei Province, to carry out 2026 undergraduate admissions promotion and a special campaign of visiting enterprises to expand employment opportunities.
The delegation held special seminars on undergraduate admissions promotion with leaders, graduating-grade directors and homeroom teacher representatives from Suizhou No. 1 Senior High School, Suizhou No. 2 Senior High School and Suixian No. 1 Senior High School. At the seminars, Yu gave a detailed introduction to WIT’s history, disciplinary strengths, program offerings, talent cultivation features and high-quality development achievements. He expressed sincere gratitude to Suizhou’s high schools for their long-term support in providing large numbers of high-quality students to WIT and hoped to continue the good cooperative relationship and jointly contribute new wisdom and strength to building an education powerhouse. Tian Yong, Deputy Director of WIT’s Admissions and Employment Office, gave a special briefing on the university’s 2026 undergraduate admissions policies. Wang Huoli, Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, introduced the school’s program offerings and the features and advantages of its “E+” interdisciplinary talent cultivation model. Participants held in-depth exchanges on college application, program development and talent cultivation.
During the enterprise visit campaign, the delegation visited and surveyed Hubei Qixing Automobile Co., Ltd., Hubei Benxing New Materials Co., Ltd. and Suizhou Taihua Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. They toured production workshops, R&D centers and product exhibition halls, and learned in detail about the enterprises’ development history, industrial development plans, product R&D and production, and employment needs. They also followed up on the career development of WIT graduates at various employers in Suizhou.
In discussions with executives of relevant enterprises, Yu said that serving high-quality local economic and social development is an important responsibility of universities. WIT has always adhered to being rooted in Hubei, aligning with industries and serving enterprises, and using its disciplinary and program strengths to support local economic and social development. He hoped that this enterprise visit campaign would serve as an opportunity to carry out all-round and in-depth cooperation focusing on precise matching of employment supply and demand, the construction of student internship and practical training bases, joint research on product R&D, and the co-building of industry-university cooperation platforms, so as to fully leverage the university’s strengths in talent cultivation and scientific research and make every effort to serve Suizhou’s high-quality economic and social development.
